Here is a Lace that you will hand transfer certain stitches on each row. And if your lucky to have a machine with a Lace Punch Card, this is what I found to work also.
Cast on 25 stitches
Knit 1 row
Starting from the right, take the 3rd st and move to the side of the carriage, always move the stitch to the needle going to the carriage side
(Click on image to view full size)
Or the Excel version of this, you may need to have the Knit Font installed on your computer
Then move every 4th stitch over until you are at the end, there are 6 stitches to move
Knit across, now do the same stitches but this time move the other way as the carriage is now on the other side
Knit across
Continue this for each row for as long as you need
This is what it will look like on the machine
Lace Carriage with Brother Punch Card
Now if you are lucky and have a lace carriage, this is
what I found that can be done but you need to only punch one row and
lock that in place. But you still need to be a little more careful and
double check your stitch transfers to make it. With the brother
machines, you may have to punch each row for the card size you need. Punch the card like this, O’s are not punched and X’s are punched.
OOXOOOXOOOXOOOXOOOXOOOXO
Then lock the card on that row, make sure it is on the correct row by
bringing out your needles you want to work on and move the lace carriage
across. Then also you can check to make sure you have 2 or 3
needles on the outside of the needles that are selected. Cast on 51 stitches (L25 to R26), this will give you the 3 stitches on
each end, if you want more, then add 4 more needles on either or both
sides.
With the K carriage, knit 2 rows
Now take the lace carriage and move it across the bed 2 times.
Knit 1 row with the K carriage.
Starting with the lace carriage on the right and pass it across the bed 2 times
Knit 1 row with K carriage
Starting the lace carriage on the left, move it across the bed 2 times
Knit 1 row with K carriage
Repeat last 4 rows of pattern to get what you want. You may need more
weight than normal, so keep an eye out on the stitches that they are not
wanting to come off the needle hooks.
