I was supposed to have 162 sts to cast on but the LK150 only has 150 needles
So I only used the 150 needles of course. Oh and yes, TD4 but whatever you get with your yarn will make it more or less than what I have.
Originally it was to be 22 inches wide and 20 inches tall, but that can be changed to whatever you want.
So I knitted up 6 rows and reformed to 3 by 1 rib. If you want to close it off in the bottom, no need to reform to rib.
Then I knitted up 160 rows.
Next I bound off the first 45 sts,I did knit up those sts at TD9, latched tool bind off those sts.
Put the last st on the next needle and remembering to put the TD back to 4 and knit across.
I did the same binding off the first 45 sts as before.
I then ended up with 30 sts for the hood.
I then knitted 66 rows, and I like to graft my knitting together, so I knitted half the row so that the yarn tail was in the center. Next I took off on WY and put the knit side facing me, then put the other half on with the purl side facing me so that the knit sides were facing each other, then I did the grafting (kitchener) on those sts. Sometimes I take it off on hand knitting needles and do that off the machine.
You can also just bind off the last row and sew that to itself.
Last I crocheted Single Crochet (US term) from one bottom up, over the top part, then around the hood area I did a decrease so that it will pull itself in. Went across the other top part and the other side.
Then Last I did shells and it also formed little button holes that I used for the buttons.
