Convertible Sweater or Vest

Some time ago, Susy Ranner was talking of having sleeves being attached by buttons.

That reminded me of a pattern I had saved, dated March/April 1987. Look at the bottom of the scanned photo.

It is a plain drop sleeve sweater pattern.

Well I had finally made one but took the cap sleeves from another sweater to hide the buttonholes.

Here is what it looks like finished, watch the graphics to see the animation of 3 photos.

  1. What one needs to do is first get a pattern for the size they need
  2. Then add ribbing to the armhole area of the vest part
  3. Now when you do the sleeves, you put ribbing at the top
  4. Sew up all parts and weave in the yarn tails
  5. Last is to sew on buttons
  6. This is for my oldest grandniece and I ended up with 18 buttons on each sleeve top

You may sell the item you make from this pattern (I do not have any right to tell you that you cannot sell the finished product, that is against the law - For more detail on this, please look at this page), you may not sell or give away the pattern itself. Nor shall it be put into any web page or magazine without my consent. Please email me first before doing so. All Rights Reserved
