Dolman Pullover for Child 28 inch chest
This is done as a butted boat neck sweater with changes to the top of
the sleeves. You can do the front and back as you would for any
other neckline.
GAUGE:
22 stitches by 30 rows.
Body knit by Singer LK150 using TD4
Ribbing knit by Singer LK150 using TD3
BACK AND FRONT: Work 2 pieces the same.
- Cast on 83 stitches in MY, using TD3 and closed edge method. Work in 1x1 rib for 18 rows. COR.
- Change to TD4 and Stocking stitch, RC000. Work 26 rows.
- Mark this row at both ends for armhole.
- Work 80 more rows. Total 106 rows.
- Boat neck ribbing. Thread every other stitches onto WY, and push empty needles to NWP. Change to TD3. Work 16 rows. Convert to 1x1 rib. Cast off loosely.
SHOULDER SEAMS
Leave center 8.5 ins open for neck. Sew front to back along bound off
edges of both shoulder seams.
SLEEVES
- Hang 140 side stitches from marker to marker at TD4
- Decrease 1 stitch both sides every 2nd row 41 times and then both
sides every row 7 times
- Knit to row 90
- Change to TD3 and Knit 14 rows, reform to rib of your choice
- Bind off loosely.
FINISHING
Sew any remaining seams.
Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends.
