Dolman Pullover for Child 28 inch chest knitted from cuff to cuff

I took a butted boat neck sweater and worked it from the cuff to cuff and the body pieces sideways, dividing the sleeve in half so that there are 2 pieces

GAUGE:  18 stitches by 22 rows
Body knit by Singer Elna 2300 using TD5
Ribbing knit by Elna 2300 using TD3

BACK AND FRONT: Work 2 pieces the same

  1. Cast on 18 stitches from L21 to L38 with Waste Yarn at TD5 and Stockinet stitch and knit about 6 or 7 rows then one row of ravel cord.  Reset counter to zeros
  2. Increase 1 stitch on right side only every 2 rows 11 times, then 1 stitch every row 44 times (or you can cast on 2 stitches every 2 rows as I shown in the video) to 73 stitches (L38 to R35).  Mark right side of work
  3. Knit 20 rows, mark left side
  4. Knit 46 rows, mark left side again, this will be the neck opening
  5. Knit 20 rows.  Mark right side of work again
  6. Decrease 1 stitch on right side every 1 row 44 times (or if you want to bind off 2 stitches every 2 rows), then 1 stitch on the right side every 2 rows 11 times.
  7. Work off on Waste Yarn

SHOULDER SEAMS:  Sew the 2 shoulder seams and sleeve top, I did a crochet sewing, seems to have a much tighter hold than the mattress stitch

SLEEVES CUFFS:  Hang 36 live stitches with TD4 knit up 10 rows rib of your choice

You can now sew one bottom sleeve seam or work the bottom ribbing separately and sew the 2 sleeve bottom and side seams

BOTTOM RIBBING

  1. Hang 70 stitches from front and back and work rib of your choice.
  2. Knit 14 rows and Bind Off.

FINISHING
Sew any remaining seams.
Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends.
