Now you can also work up 40 rows of one color, then 40 rows of a 2nd color and 40 rows of the first color again, this will make it have the brim in the 2nd color
Or you can knit up forty rows of color 1, twenty rows of color 2, twenty rows of color one and forty rows of color 2
Or if you want to make your own pattern, here is a copy of my Double Hat Spreadsheet Generator
In the Excel file, I have the hat body as Tab 1, then the other tabs are the Hat Crowns
So what I did was cast on for tubular knitting. I found that to work the zigzag row with Ravel Cord worked best
Then you will knit up a few rounds of WY
Then you will knit 1 row of Ravel Cord, drop that between the beds, get a 2nd Ravel Cord and knit that on the Ribber
Now start off with the Main Color and knit 60 rounds or 120 rows on the Row Counter, think I used TD4 or 6, depends on the yarn
Next is to start the decreasing, take the 2nd stitch from the end and put to the end needle, now take those 2 stitches and put back on the 2nd needle, push end empty needle out of work
Then move stitches R2 to end over one so that R1 has 2 stitches on it, same for the left side
Knit across, then decrease as above for the ribber stitches
Knit across
Knit 2 row rows or 1 more round
Decrease again as before until you have about 8 to 10 stitches left
Gather Bind off and take off the machine
Now take the first row of Ravel Cord off to open up the beginning WY area
Hang the MY stitches on the Knitter and Ribber
Knit 60 rounds or 120 rows on the Row Counter
Decrease as before and Gather Bind off in the end
Pull other 2 Ravel Cords off and take WY away
Take the yarn tails and either make a small knot and pull the tail in the middle of each hats
Bring one hat into the other
If you want, add a small pompom to each hat, I tried on these 2 both ways and didn't feel the pompom inside, so make them small. These are 2" pompom's
