Here I use the Elna 2300/2350 bulky double bed, same
as the Singer/Studio SK/SR155
I started out with the tubular cast on with Waste Yarn and the double bed
with 20 stitches on both beds Once I got to the end of my WY, I then set up the carriage to knit
1x1 rib and worked up 1 row As this machine will not do the Double English or Fisherman's rib, I
am only doing the English rib as per the manual of this machine with the
exception as how the chart is set up to move the cam lever from slip to
stockinet every row. I just put one side lever on the knitter to
the circle (forward) and left the other side lever back (to the upside
down triangle) and the cam to Slip The ribber carriage has the opposite side lever up to zero and the
other one down to one After the initial first row, I then set the cam on the ribber
carriage to the upside down U which will tuck one way on the ribber but
knit the other way. Forgot to add this and just counted on the green cowl, it looks like
I did 200 rows on this. When I grafted the first few times, I was working it as per the internet
instructions
but when one takes the 2 ends of a length of any kind of rib, the
stitches just do not line up, here is a picture of how that happened and
no matter how I changed the way of grafting for rib, it still came out
the same. Click the picture to see the full size. So then I come to the conclusion that one had to graft one side first
and then the other side second as I shown in the video, part 2 near the
end, or you can view the Full Needle Rib grafting as it is the same way On the Brother type knitting machines, you can do the Full or
Fisherman's rib, set your knitter carriage to tuck one way and the
ribber carriage to tuck the opposite way. You will want to start
out and end with a plain 1x1 rib so that you can graft them together or
if you start out and end with 1 side being tucked, just remember to put
the tapestry needle through the 2 loops that would be as 1 stitch.
