My version of a Machine Knit Slouchy Hat
I used the LK150 Mid-Gauge knitting machine, TD5 with Pound of Love yarn
- All I did with this hat was to cast on 99 stitches
- Then I knitted 10 rows and reformed to 1x1 rib
- Next I knitted to Row 72
- Next I divided 99 sts by 12 decreases and it came out to 8.5, well I cannot do a fraction but I just took the 7th stitch and moved it to the 8th needle
- But I set up my Magic wand to push the needles out that the sts needed to be transferred over to the next needle for the decrease. But I started 2 empty slots prior to the end needle on the right and from there I just put the right prong on the needle that was just pushed forward to push out the next one and then repeated that all the way down so that I had the 12 stitches to decrease
- Then taking my one prong tool, I moved the st from the needle in HP to the next needle to the left as well as pushing the needle that will be empty all the way back to NWP
- Next I had to move all stitches inwards so that there was no empty needles
- Knit 2 rows
- Now I take my Magic Wand and push the next prong to the left of the left one down and push the other left prong up
- Now I repeat the process as above until I had 7 stitches remaining
- Knitted 1 more row, cut enough of the yarn to do a gather bind off but also sew the seam and also in the end duplicate stitch so that it won't unravel
- I also will take the beginning yarn tail to sew up until I am in the Stockinette Stitch part and duplicate stitch on the purl side to hold that yarn tail in place and not have that come undone
Remember, if you are making these
or any item for donations, you can donate them to your local churches
(do not have to be a member there), any homeless shelter, food pantries,
hospitals and local schools. Do not be a fool when someone else takes
your items and donates or even sells them for their recognition and not
yours or even a profit that they never made the items.
You may sell the item you make from this pattern (I do not have any right to tell you that you cannot sell the finished product, that is against the law - For more detail on this, please look at this page),
you may not sell or give away the pattern itself. Nor shall it be put
into any web page or magazine without my consent. Please email me first
before doing so.
