Take a quart canning jar and mark it for cleaning needles only
Use some denatured alcohol or mineral spirits if possible. You can use rubbing alcohol but I was told by someone that works on the different machines to use only the first 2 mentioned above
Then add a couple drops of KM oil. If not then you can do that part later
Separate them into quarters, example given for the Singer Bulky machine, mark then L1 to L25, L26 to L55, same for the right
Put one of the outside set of needles in the jar with the cleaning solution, close it up and swirl it around. I like to fill my jar about half way so that it will also clean the shafts as well
Let them sit for about 15 to 30 minutes
Then with rubber gloves, take them out and put on cardboard, newspapers and paper towel. I do this outside as the fumes from the alcohol
Give them a few minutes to dry but put the next set of needles into the jar. Then after the first set of needles are dry
When the first set of needles are dry, put a drop of oil on your index finger or thumb, put the hook of the needles between finger and thumb and swirl around to oil the hinge of the latch, do to the rest of the needles as well
Put those needles on the inside section of the machine, so the needles that were used less often will now be used more often
